    I am not sure how many former customers realise this business has new owners .. ?? I recently returned to the business due to Covid restrictions , I would usually drive to Sydney rather than use this business .. What a change ! Outstanding customer service , better than expected technical expertise and all at true value for money . Please , it’s more important than ever to support local business and these guys are worth supporting . Five stars Tim & Matt .. thank you!

    I own a loyal 2011 MacBook Pro that had corrupted hardware and wouldn't reboot. I thought we had reached the end of its life but the wonderful staff at Coastal Computing resurrected it, salvaged all my files, and made upgrades that have made my laptop at least 7x faster. Very reasonable price, quick turnaround, and staff explained things clearly. Would have paid double for the service I received. Most grateful!

    Very poor communication. Originally took my computer in Wednesday 3/4/19. The man on the front desk said it would “most likely” be ready by the following Monday. I waited all weekend and almost the entirety of Monday before calling the store to find out what was happening. I spoke to the same man who was short and rude with me, and spoke over me several times. He said that since I hadn’t gotten a call about the specifics of the repair, I shouldn’t have expected it to be ready by Monday. But why didn’t they call to tell me that it would take longer than expected? The new expected repair time was at least another 3 days, as they hadn’t even looked at my computer, nor had they ordered the part they needed.

    Today they called to say it was ready, so I immediately went to the store to get it. The same man was on the front desk and I asked him again, why he had told me it would take 3 days, when it took much longer. He said to me that he had said it would “most likely” be ready. I said that meant it should be ready then. He said that I “interpreted” it that way. How else do you interpret “most likely”? I do not appreciate being lied to, as this IS what he did, and then being told that it’s my problem for interpreting his words to mean something other than what he thinks they mean. Most likely means more likely than not. Perhaps instead of using most likely, he should find another phrase that actually means what he wants to say. He again spoke over me several times as I tried to explain my position.

    I would also have appreciated being told that it would take longer than his estimate, rather than less, as I would have been prepared for the wait, rather than annoyed and upset that it wasn’t ready on the day I was informed it should be ready. He also tried to make that my problem by telling me that other customers didn’t like to be told that it would take longer. Do other customers prefer to be lied to and told that it would take 3 days and instead it takes 5? I certainly didn’t.

    The repair is good, and I’m glad i have my computer fixed and back in my hands, but I will not be returning to Coastal Computing Services ever again.

    Communication is a very important part of business in my opinion, and if their key front of business person can’t communicate, I don’t want to give them my business.
